Guix Foundation uses donations and membership fees to support Guix and the global community of volunteers around it. From our fundraising we organise our spending into the following priorities and activity areas:
Hosting and infrastructure
This is the most critical category as it covers hosting for the GNU Guix web site, the build farms which build packages, and the servers which provide those packages to users. See the Reports and Records section for the details of this budget.
Community and collaboration
As a highly distributed community of developers and users we run events for Guix contributors to come together, collaborate and learn from each other. The most important is Guix Days which is our annual developer hackathon, see the Events page for the details.
Advocacy and education
We want to build a healthy, sustainable and active community around Guix by attracting new users and making it fun for existing users. There's more on the advocacy and education page.
Sponsoring Guix development
We can accelerate the development of Guix by sponsoring the development of new capabilities and maintaining existing code.
