Build farm improvements
The Guix project operates two build farms for resilience and trust. By building packages using two different build farms users can check that their signatures agree. This increases trust that packages haven't been backdoored.

We've just taken down the banner on the Guix site finishing the Sustain and Strength fundraising campaign. The good news is that we're on course to beat our fundraising target having raised €11,378 for the GNU Guix project. If we count the recurring monthly donations of €1,650 and annualise those figures then we could raise about €19,800 for the Guix project this year. This would beat our €15,000 annual goal.
Guix Foundation also received our first donation from an organisation when SUSE contacted us to donate $500 behalf of SUSE Cares their philanthropic giving programme. This is an employee programme that enables SUSE employees to support charities of their choice. Thank you SUSE team!
I've written a more detailed post on the Guix site and there are a couple of posts from during the campaign:
Collecting donations is just the start, now we need to use the funds to support the development of Guix, and the community around it. For Guix Days I put together a talk about the fundraising and our future plans. The talk's available as a PDF, or there's a video on YouTube(1440p) and TILvids Peertube (1080p).
Thanks to everyone who's supported Guix by donating, you're making a difference and we really appreciate it!

Following a very successful fundraise over the last couple of monthsI was able to provide a positive update to everyone about Guix Foundation's status. We're in a good position to reach our goal of ensuring Guix is sustainable.
The next job was to figure out how we'll split the funding to ensure that we're able to support Guix and the community around it. For this we put together a budget that was accepted by the SAC (organising committee). We'll be working to this budget and revising it in the middle of the year.
As I couldn't be at Guix Days I recorded a video - click the image above to watch it.
If you'd rather read the slides (PDF) on Guix Foundation Funding and Future (en) are also available.
We'd love to hear your questions, thoughts and ideas. You can reach the SAC (organising committee) either through the members mailing list , or if you're not a member (yet!) the contact us page.
